2 Days 2 Nights

S02/E322’s chalet - I’m invited! =pPpP

Not many came because many of the people are sick and resting at home. Actually even the people who came for the chalet, half of us are also sick- even before we came for the chalet then some more living under the same roof, sharing the gems with each other. Oops Oops!

RISK – the war game that not only keep our time going at the chalet but also the game which reveal everyone’s true colour … heehee

sentence like this are made:
“I still have RISK cards lehz!”
“I wont attack you one!”
“TC, we friend friend k. RN, we friend friend k. CQ, we friend friend k.”
“Attack him attack him. Don’t attack me!”

Unhealthy chalet! –said Cuiqi
Evidence to support what she said … we had bbq food for dinner cum supper, MacDonald for breakfast, bubble tea with superb pearl for lunch, tibits of chips and chocolate for snacks, nearly ice-cream for breakfast. And not forgetting SLEEP sleep SLEEP. =pPpP

For me … I enjoyed the chalet, eventhough only a few of us but it was cool enough already. Enjoyed the fellowship we had together.
The only one thing that is sad is my fever cum flu. Because of that I can’t sleep properly … finds myself waking up in the middle of the night, either to take tissue to stuck my nose or going to the loo cause one shot drank 800ml of water. =p
The hardest moment is controlling what I eat … packets and packets of chips and chocolate fly right infront of my eyes but I have to let it bypass me! sobsobz.

~adventure mrt journey~

I was in the train with Jane from City Hall. Just when a mentally challenged student and her mum walked in.
*Jane and I … our eyes popped up and in full-gear mode*

As we can’t really talk to them on the train so somehow we’re prepared to follow them and alight at where they alight. Heehee … so naughty us, on one hand we are praying that they can stay Bukit Batok (the area my bus covered) but on the other hand to pray they don’t stay too far, if not after reaching out, we will have a long way home to YCK for Jane and AMK for me. So then began to pray and ask God to let them alight at Yishun. =)

Operator said “Ang Mo Kio” – both still sitting down … no movements
“Yio Chu Kang” – not alighting … praying and keeping fingers crossed
“Khatib” – STILL not alighting … oh no! oh no! God, please make them alight Yishun
“Yishun” – leaving their seats … PRAISE GOD! THANK YOU JESUS!

Thank God … for peace and calm-ness when talking to the mum! This is the FIRST time I spoke to total unfamiliar parent when reaching out and not tremble in my words! =)

Thank God for an open heart of the mum … they are actually attending another church already but when I talked about JAMs Church who can actually meet the needs of her child, the mum looked interested.

Thank God for Jane … if not I may have back out and alight at AMK quietly then of course live in regret. Two is better than one! =)

Thank God … for a seed that is being sown in their heart. Now is to keep on praying and believe that as we did what we can, God will do what we can’t.

The most funny thing is after we finished talking to the mum, the mum actually turned and asked, “You all stay around here?” and we two *flipped flipped*. In another word, actually somehow the mum did noticed that we two have been peeping on them on train and ‘following’ them down. Haha … But thank God for everything! =)

~First-Aider~

You need CPR? =p I am a “qualified” First-Aider!
Just attended a 3-days First Aid course by
St. John … though is physically-demanding but overall is fun, gained a lot of knowledge and skills too. =)

*Thank God*
On the last day of the course, we are actually tested both theory and practical. Just an hour before our actual paper, the lecturer went through past year questions with us. And can you imagine, when we got hold of our actual exam paper, we nearly flipped … out of the 20 questions, 18 questions is exactly the same as what the lecturer went through with us! Hahahahaha! =)

During the practical of CPR … was pretty nervous, scare will make mistakes. But really thank God for a good examiner (though old [white hairs & white eyebrows!] but one who is knowledgeable and humorous). Just did out the procedure … check for surrounding, check for foreign body, check purse/breathing, perform rescue breathing and then CPR. Thank God that everything went on smoothly! At the end of the day, lecturer said … “Passed!” Yipee! Yipee! Really thank God! =) You need CPR?

*** 21st aCtUaL dAy ***

today is Teacher Yanni’s birthday!” “today is Teacher Yanni’s birthday!” was often heard among children’s conversation that day in school. =p One of my colleague during the morning assembly, got the whole session’s children to sing me birthday song. Wow wow wow … 80 plus children singing birthday song to me! *face red* =p
Had lunch in school with colleagues, food ordered by principal. Just when I was enjoying my curry fish head … a cake was smashed onto my face and even before I can clean away the first mess, the second chocolate cake was SMASHED onto my face immediately! Aiyoyo … and can you imagine who the mastermind is?! She is non other than the person who runs the entire centre … my school’s PRINCIPAL. =p

Back home … smelly something “fishy” when I saw extra stools in my living room and even more “fishy” when I saw table lay out and food prepared in the kitchen. And the next thing I knew … Rick, Jane, Guodong and Karen were right in front of my eye! *shocked*
-- The Brilliant Plan –- my mother ‘combined power’ with my friends, she didn’t tell me that my friends are planning a dinner at my place. She even helped to hide my friends and their shoes! Aiyoyoyo … that’s why I said, on that day I can’t find myself trusting anyone except God. Heehee =p

Errmm … the moment where Rick (the main mastermind) nearly flipped and rolled on the floor is before every surprise can come to past, Yanni already got insider-infos liao.
*Muahahahahahahahahaha*
1st secret revealed – Mr. XXX msged me, “you going Yanni’s place tonight right?” =p
*oops! oops!*
2nd secret revealed – Ms. YYY called and said “meet 4.30pm at Serangoon interchange right?” …. Errmmmm I thought Rick told me 8pm at ToaPayoh?! =pPpPpPpPpP
*OOPS! OOPS! OOPS!*

You see … when you have friends who are “super” creative, you can’t just expect a simple and PEACEFUL birthday dinner … but a dinner WITH saboSSSSS. [God love you and I love you to ya. =pppppppppppppp]

1st Stage- penalty include hot hot powder and medical oil (the one I hated the most! my mummy betrayed me! =p)
2nd Stage- eating disgusting food, combination of sweet, sour, bitter and hot (mixed together … eeeeeeeeee!)
3rd Stage- the only stage that Yanni will rejoice! My friends sang song for me … “That’s what friends are for!” *super kandong super kandong* =)
Errmmm … think after that song, whatever they DONE to me previously must throw behind my mind and ‘forgive’ them. HAHAHAHAHA. =p

All in all … the dinner is one filled with lotsa of love and lotsa of friendship!
Thanks Guys! Really appreciate every single one of YOU …

RiCk … Mr. Mastermind, “THANKS” for everything! =p
Nahz … just kidding, really thanks for everything! You really show me what is glory to glory and to even more glory! Heehee. =)
Once again ... you will truly reap what you sowed, more than 100-fold! =pPpPpPpP

JiNzHi … thanks for the effort put in wrapping my present! Errmm you really got me silence when you took out your 3 mini sabo – hot, sour, bitter – want me to eat everytime I opened a box. Aiyoyoyo … BROTHER! =p

JaNe … thanks for being the second Miss. Mastermind too! Though you may be found ‘guilty’ to the two secrets revealed to me, God still love you ya!
=p Just kidding lahz … thanks for making my birthday a memorable one!

HuImIn & JiNgJiNg … thanks for the special skirt! =) You girls must have spent a lot of time making it right because is soooo NICE and creative! Seriously, I really loved it … thank girls!! I will make sure I hanged somewhere in my room that I can see it everyday and praying the day will come where all of you will see Teacher Yanni in skirt/dress. =p

WiNnIe … thanks for playing a part in my memorable birthday celebration! Treasure your friendship greatly! =) Thanks for the great blessing too!

KaReN & GuOdOnG … hey hey hey hey hey hey hey! The presence of you two are simply great and awesome! =) Thanks for everything … Thanks for the blessing!

AlViNa … hey girl, thanks for coming all the way! =) Your presence really made a difference! =)

ps: showing you what it meant by glory to glory to even more glory ... by increasing the length of my blog message! =p

*** birthday EVE ***

Birthday eve … spent it with my CHEC friends – Audrey, Shirley, Jingyi, Aaron, Tricia and Vickie. We went to CafĂ© Cartel to makan makan … a complete meal with starter of breadsSs, main course, desert (ice-cream! + brownie) and fruit cake (healthy!)

Though is only a short and simple dinner together … but really appreciate each individual of them. Is like despite of their busy schedule, they will take time off to come and meet up to celebrate Aaron’s and my birthday. =) Thanks Guys!

Really missed those times in private school - how we will meet at City Hall mrt station and rushed to Suntec Tower 3 for lesson when we ate late … or those ya-ya-papaya moments when we are already late for Bro Kenny’s lesson but still can go BreakTalk to queue for discounted bread. =p Or what about finishing the cans of biscuits in the office? And every Wednesday night after Bro Edwin’s Chemistry lesson, our own PE lesson at the Roof-Garden of playing catching and blind mice at playground. Haha!

To YOU … the 1st batch of students in CHEC ... lets stayed in contact k. Never regret knowing you guys! =)

*** Meeting?! Collect stuff?! ***

Urgent meeting with Sis Lily?! Collect important document from church staff?!
Errrm … in the end, is actually a surprise birthday dinner for Melvin and me from Jm1 and Jm2. =)

Seriously is super unexpected … only towards the back, find it fishy when I am asked to go to a restaurant to collect the ‘important document’ from the staff. As I went in, instead of one church staff, I saw many JAMs workers … my cell group members! *shocked*

Wow wow … the ‘sweetest’ moment comes when suddenly the background music in the restaurant was changed to ‘birthday song’ and the next thing we know, a cake was placed infront of Melvin and I. *kandong*

Really appreciate them ... though I may have only joined their cell group for a couple of months but am already feeling very loved and blessed. =)

May I propose a toast to all my Jm1 and Jm2 members! Thanks for everything!

*** POWDERful suprises ***

A POWDERful birthday celebration from my JAMs “gang”. It all began when I was at my last drop-off point, after busing … to my shock, I turned and saw Rick and Huimin who I actually expect them to be at West Mall waiting. At there, I had my Stage 1 … to do “Yanni’s Crossword Puzzle” with penalty like sour sweets and cakes. Next destination - "our secret place”, I am being blindfolded! And that’s really scary! Because you really don’t know where they will bring you to … and the scariest part is when the person who led you kept saying “trust me! trust me!” and times again, you found yourself either nearly tripped or hit the wall. Ouch! (to the person who leads me, God still love you and I love you too! Amen! =p)

After all the POWDER’s ATTACK and the frights from being blindfolded … I had my 1st birthday cake – green tea flavor. At a moment … it got me silent for a few seconds - the moment when I saw two big and one small candle on my cake!!!! It used to be only one small candle! =p

After an interesting style of having dinner – without table and chairs … it was the most touching moment - my friends ‘performing’ for me! I sat there and enjoyed as they sang my favourite song to me. My first reaction when I heard = fall off from where I am sitting and next all I did was LAUGH and LAUGH and LAUGH and LAUGH. They went to change the lyrics of the song, “One” and substitute words in that got to do with me. =)

May I propose a toast to Rick, Jane, Yiwei, Huimin, Jinzhi, Winnie, Guodong and Karen! Thanks guys for all the effort put in … to make my 21st celebration a POWDERful and memorable one! =)

Special toast to …

* Bro Rick * … thanks for all the effort, the surprises and the time spent to prepare for this celebration! Truly you will reap what you have sowed … you sow SURPRISES, you should reap SURPRISES! =p

* Awesome BH Jane & BH Yiwei * … thanks for the effort in gathering all the fingerprints of w5 people and put in a box of love for me! Thanks for the mini celebration on bus too.
To Jane … thank you soooooooooooo much for your delicious brownie cake! A cake from princess, it tasted extra delicious! =)
(ps: can I have one more?!)

* Jinzhi, Winnie, Huimin, Guodong and Karen * … thanks guys for making all this happened. Without you guys, guess the “plan” of Rick’s won’t succeed either. =p Last but not least … Thanks for singing that song, making it even more meaningful and unique for me! And true enough … I want to go to the place where the Spirit of God is, and allow the Holy Ghost to empower me and together with the help of Jesus, I will bring REVIVAL to W5. AMEN!

- Yanni's 21st -

I am FREE !!!!!!!! Finally I hold the key to my house … oops! … I mean finally I hold the key to freedom! =p

It has been an awesome and memorable 21st birthday … like what my friends said, it seem that my birthday celebration lasted for one week.=)

Going to share with you guys all my birthday surprisesSsSs … the kanchiong moments, the sweetest moments, the touching moments so sit back and ENJOY ... laugh and cry with me k. =p

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

is coming! is coming! is coming!

1 2 3 more days! In just 3 more days time, I will hold the key to FREEDOM! =p

Errrmmm … so how am I feeling now? What am I feeling now?
Nervous? Excited? Feeling-less?
Actually I also don’t know … is a bit of feeling-less mixed with nervous! Hahaha~

Yup … one of my friends told me that when you reach 21 and above, you will start to think a lot of stuffs that you don’t find yourself thinking when you are 10+ of age. So pretty nervous about it … what will I think about as I begin to enter into the new phrase of my life.

Feeling-less?! Perhaps it will be just another birthday for me … when I was 10+ of age, really can’t wait to be 21 and will want to make my 21st celebration a real grand and big one but is like when you finally reach the age, you will want to keep it low profile … just simple meal with close friends and that’s awesome already.

ps: Ladies and Gentlemen! As you read this blog entry, please RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW, go and mark down your calendar!

!? hows MY week ?!

**last MoNdAy**
First cell group outing with JM1 … went Sentosa! The most challenging – to wake up early on a public holiday. Hahaha =p.
Been a while since I went Sentosa or a chance to get to the beach … wow WOW wow WOW, I love the beaches, I love the views on Palawan Beach and Siloso Beach (though it may not be the best). Beside the beaches, we also did go elsewhere … we walked and we walked and we walked and we walked. *tired*
But it had been a great outing, really enjoyed the company of my new cell group members!

**last WeDnEsDaY**
SIS IRIS’ BIRTHDAY! =)
Together with some S02/E322 members, we went to surprise Sis Iris at her workplace.
Sis Iris has always been a great leader and friend to us … so she deserve all our love, all our time and all our effort.
SIS IRIS … WE LOVE YOU!

**last ThUrSdAy**
Went weekly visitation with my awesome BH, JANE LOW. =p
(BC counting down)

Ya … first time visit to Kenneth’s house. Kenneth is quite a new student who have been in JAMs for around 12 times but never really get a chance to go visit him until the week. He has autism, there is no speech from him. The most touching and encouraging part is when Kenneth came out of his room and saw us, he did nothing but just SMILE. Though there may not be any words from him but that SMILE means a lot a lot a lot to me. =)

*special salute to his mum* … Knowing that Kenneth may not be used to the new environment and also may not adapt fast to it, the mum never fail to company him to church every single weeks. My heart really go out for her whenever I see Kenneth trying to grab or pull his mum’s hairs, pulled her shirt or even want to beat her. Keeping Kenneth in prayer, really pray that God will do a work in his life … want to ‘released’ the mum from companying Kenneth to JAMs, that must be when she see Kenneth is okay on his own and we the teachers can ‘handle’ him.

Before we left the house, took the step of faith to pray for Kenneth and for his mum. The mum listened more to Chinese but somehow I can’t pray well in Chinese so throughout my English version, just added the word “li liang” - strength - as I prayed for the mum. I prayed for joy in Kenneth’s life and not forgetting to tell Kenneth that “Jesus loves Kenneth!” Amen and Amen!

**last SaTuRdAy**
Sato’s week … to JAMs! Happy for him but “stress” for us?! Hahaha =p
Guess he is in terrible and horrible mood that day … the following is his “accomplishment” on that one single day:

  1. he broke his cd cover with his BARE hands

  2. he banged his head against the partition

  3. he used his cd to attack a teacher and cause a bad cut near the teacher’s eye

  4. he tried real hard to want to HIT the teacher who he just injured

  5. he laid full flat on the floor and refused to get up

  6. he soaked his two feet in baptism pool

  7. he used his hands to make his face VIGOROUSLY (sign of frustration)

WHY like that?!

earlier in school today … a parent of this child called to ‘complain’ that her daughter went back home feeling pain in her ear and this child claimed that “Teacher Yanni pulled”. The most ‘amazing’ part is when the mum keeps telling me that she found this cut behind her ear. What is she trying to say here?! Errmm … to me, no matter how terrible or how naughty a child is, I will never ever lay my hand on them.

Perhaps that’s why I nearly fall off from my chair when I heard this. Is like you never underestimate a child and what will come out from their mouth. It all started like weeks ago when this child told the mum that I have been scolding her everyday so she don't want to come to school.

Hmm so funny, as if I have all the energy to scold her everyday. Alamak! Cannot tahan!
But today incident is really affecting me. Being a teacher is never easy … more than having to work with children, sometime you will meet unreasonable parent. But more than the parent, I am more disappointed with the child. I'm just shocked by the things that came forth from her mouth.

Anyway, will be praying that this mother and daughter will not come finding fault with me again. *haiz*

*OfFiCIaLlY*

Ladies and Gentleman, announcing to you … Yanni is official transferred out from S02 and transferred in to JM1. =) Just got this news from Sis Iris yesterday, she was saying that this week is the first week of May and thus my transfer will take effect.

*mixed feeling*

But really felt very encouraged after msging Sis Iris … though I may not be in the same cg with them but I know that I will always be welcome with opened arms by them, be it joining them for service or even joining them for their outing. Heehee =p And when Sis Iris said that I can join them for service and help them with their friends … I replied saying, “of course! It will always be my pleasure to serve E322 and S02!” =)

Sis Iris … if you are reading this, THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

Had JM1 cgm yesterday ... everything was great. Towards the end, Sis Adiel gave us an "assignment" - to pair up and to pray for our partner, using discernment to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in our prayer. WOW WOW WOW ... First "round" I was with Zoe and second "round" I was with Santhi ... though was trembling but took the step of faith to pray for them. They also prayed for me ... Zoe gave me this verse "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God". Santhi pictured a book when she was worshipping before she pray for me ... WOW wow WOW, she began to speak that soon when I take up studying again, I should cast away all the fears in me. It was really wow WOW wow WOW!

God is good all the time ... all the time God is good!

-tired of working?-

The year is made up of 365 days , each with 24 hours, 12 of which are night time hours which add up a total of 182 days.

This leaves you with 183 days to work minus 52 Sundays which leaves you 131 days to work minus another 52 Saturdays which leaves you 79 days to work.

3 hours each day are set aside for eating and 1 hour for bathing, going to toilet which adds up to 60 days, which leaves you only 19 days for working.

You are entitled to 14 days for your vacation which means you have 5 days left for your work minus 4 days you usually take off due to illness or other emergencies, which leave you only 1 day to work, which happens to be Labour Day which is a holiday.

So, why are you so tired?

*flipped*

hahaha … find this interesting. I saw this poster message in my principal’s office, think she must have put up recently for a reason. Errmmmm … And after reading it, my colleagues and I was thinking of pasting the word “nonsense” there. Haha!

...mY wEeK...

City Harvest Church’s LIVE Recording was awesome! Is really great to be a part of this history-making of our church. This CD will indeed make a difference in the lives of many, all over asia and all over the world … drawing down God’s presence. We sang and we sang, we danced and we danced, we jumped and we jumped … though we are tired but we still gave in our best because we want the best out of it. Spirit of Excellence! =)

Saturday JAMs - went down to company Mr Sato. Back in, we had a hard time “talking” him out and to bring him out of the hall. So after that, the rest of his time was basically spent with lightly-salted potato chips and a packet of Just-Tea (healthy breakfast?!). Errm … that really make us wonder his purpose of coming to church … for sound console? for potato chips? for vending machine?

Saturday Service - Seedtime and Harvest.
* to maintain quality of harvest = to maintain quality of seed
* every area of our lives, there a seed to sow and there a harvest to reap

Sunday JAMs - I lead games time, errmm … felt it was slightly disorganized a little. Saw one of this student … been a while since I last saw her. She used to be soooo cheerful, so happy, always with a smiling face and never fail to greet me aloud when she saw me. Every week will see her sit at the first few rows during JAMs service … praising Jesus with joy, during games time will surely see her be the first few to raise her hand or even shout out answer from afar. BUT that’s not what I see in her when I saw her on Sunday … she was sitting at the last few rows, not paying any attention to the service at all, there was no smile on her face, she don’t look okay to me. My heart really goes all out for her … Have this thought: I really need to watch over my sheeps in JAMs, and to keep praying for them.

-tEaChInG-

Class 1
Teacher Yanni: if is number 5 then you colour 5 boxes k
Child A: (blur look)
Child B: (confuse look)

[rest of the children who finished are already playing]
… a while later …

Teacher Yanni (pointing to number 3): what number is this?
Child A: 3
Teacher Yanni: then why you colour 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 boxes?
Child A: *speechless*

Teacher Yanni (pointing to number 5): ok what number is this?
Child B: 5
Teacher Yanni: count 5 boxes for me
Child B: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Teacher Yanni: whey! Count properly … I only want 5
Child B: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 (point to one box and counted twice)
Teacher Yanni (“volcano” erupting): hello! How you count! I only want 5!
Child B (fear in the face): 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 (point to one box and counted more than twice)
Teacher Yanni (“volcano” erupted): aiya! You know how to count a not! 1 2 3 4 5!!! Colour!!!

Class 2
Teacher Yanni: children! You can start writing your number “4”
Child A: *choosing pencil slowly*
Teacher Yanni: hello! Are you ready to start already?
Child A: *started moving her pencil*

5 minutes later …

Teacher Yanni: hello! After so long, you only wrote two “4”
Child A: *panic look*
Teacher Yanni: hurry up! hurry up!

teacher Yanni walked around so walked back …

Teacher Yanni: hello! hello! Why are you drawing the chair?
Child A: *kana scared by my sudden shout*
Teacher Yanni: you haven’t finish your work and your are drawing the chair! You are going to stay here and finish up your work!
Child A: *writing her work slowly*
Teacher Yanni (no energy to shout already): I’m going to leave you here already. Bye!

That single day itself … think really kana devil’s attack. All happened on the same day, during the same session and some more one after another class. After I scolded one class, the “fire level” in me already at my neck level then when the next class come in, somehow they don’t seem to behave so got to scold again. So by the time the next class come in, my face already turned "black". But thank God somehow when reaches the last two classes, my energy level already went totally flat so no energy to scold. But what I will do is I will ‘pretell’ the children first that I’ve been scolding since first class so told them if they don’t want to be scolded by Teacher Yanni, they must really behave. Haha … it worked! =p

But for the teaching part … really test patience! Is like when your “fire-level” have already exceed your own limit, the children must really do something to make you explode. BOOM! As I was teaching them the Maths concept and they don’t really seem to understand me at all, it really remind me my secondary school times when the teachers or my friend explained and explained and explained to me certain Maths concept, I will just looked at them with this “huh” look. Haha~ Perhaps God want me to teach Maths is because I can really relate with the children, cause I was once in their shoes. Haha~

*Lord You're good to me*

Lord You’re good to me
Lord I’m in love with You
Lord You bless my life
Lord You heal my soul

All I want to do is thank You Jesus
All I want to do is praise Your name
All I want to do is thank You Jesus
All I want to do is praise Your name

And I’ll laugh, yes I’ll cry
And I’ll shout Your praises
On the mountain, in the valley
'Cross the oceans I’ll praise You
In the fire and through the flood
No matter what, I’ll praise You
I’ll praise you, I’ll praise You

~mY wEeKeNd~

Last Saturday - went to help with Joli’s multiplied bus’ fetching trip. Wow wow wow … when can my bus W5 multiply too?! Upon reaching church, I was immediately directed to Mr Sato who was at the sound console. Aiyoyoyoyoyoyo … he has broke the church’s disc into few pieces and again with his bare hands! Not only that, there was this little short ‘scratch” on this brother’s hand (he was being attached to sato at first). Errrm….what happened to sato?! Only “disadvantage” for him going to Saturday JAMs is he have to be stucked with me throughout, don’t know why … maybe cause not many brother workers. Thank God we managed to get him out from the hall and away from the sound console. Later he was being entertained at the cafĂ© with a can of coke and a packet of chips which is given to him one by one. =p

That night itself … joined S02/E322 for a great service! Of course, it was a great feeling to join them for service again. Errrm … actually I am still considered S02 because Sis Iris haven’t done the official transfer out for me to JAMs cell. Don’t know why have this kind of “half half feeling” … like half S02 half JM1, no good no good. Even the week’s cell meeting, I just don’t know which to go to and to get the live recording’s tickets, I just don’t know should I get it from Sis Iris or Sis Adiel. Really pray that the “transfer” will come soon … not because I want to be away from S02 but really want to feel “belonged” somewhere. =)

Last Sunday – had a great JAMs service! Was at playgroup room with one of my bus’ boy, Kenneth and his mother. After being in the main service for 10weeks, the mum decided to take a look at the playgroup. Is really super not easy to bring him over and when he is over, is also not easy to keep him “calm” while siting at the back too. Feel for the mum when many times, Kenneth will just pull the mum’s hairs or shirt (really pull) and I also did kana at times. But thank God perhaps of the “training” by Sir Sato and Mdm Wennie so wasn’t really that affected, just got to be used to his “sudden attack” as you really never know when his palm will come.

Praise God Praise God! My bus W5 have a breakthrough attendance … a total of 26 students! WOW WOW WOW WOW … is indeed a breakthrough, compared to the weeks of less than 20 ever since we stepped into 2005. And indeed all glories to Him! Got to pray for good retention … that it wont be just a one-time hit attendance.

ps: I blogged already I blogged already! =pppp

*my SAMUEL*

Samuel – a K2 boy who I have taught since nursery. Recently saw this “change” in him that really encouraged me a lot. I was his form teacher during his nursery year so most of his 2hrs in school was spent with me. Compared now I see him and 2yrs back, there are really changes. He is a special boy who is unique in his own way but since we don't have medical cert or knowledge to prove anything, we don't have any right to label him.

Still can remember those times in nursery how he can drive the teachers (including me) to the wall. But at times he can be real interesting … the funny stuff he will do is like he will remove his shoes and smell his socks if not he will go around throwing toys/duster right to the top of the cupboard. Clearly remember this heart-breaking incident when he did something wrong, had a hard time “grabbing” him to stand infront of him as I want to talk to him … he couldn’t establish eye-contact with me and then he began to have “soft bones” and went sliding away.

Don’t say about writing, he cannot hold a pencil properly or even colour something accordingly. Slowly a little a little, he improved as he stepped into K1 then now K2 … a totally changed-boy who have grown and who have improved greatly. Just this week, got him to do pattern-recording … not only he could continue the A-B pattern that I start for him, he can even colour the templates according to the coloured cubes he took. WOW WOW WOW!

Have this thought: A child may have a little learning disability which can be an “obstacle” but that doesn’t mean that we can remove “learning” in their life. We should keep providing the time, the love, the encouragement the child need. Though they may not show instant results but never think that they didn’t learn anything.

Right now … Samuel could better express himself, understand instruction, copy his name and colour within box etc (which he used to cant at all)! Wow wow wow … I am so happy for him! Recently his parents also brought him to do assessment for special school … praying for him that he could receive better help and stronger support to GROW grow GROW.

...countdown...

28th March ... 29th March ... 30th March ... 31st March

three more days to 1st April !!
April 2005 ... I will be official transfer to JAMs cell group!

Ermmm... happy? sad? excited? no feeling?
I also dont know actually ... hahahahahahahahaha. Just know that April is drawing nearer and nearer and nearer. And once April comes, I will be official in JM1.

Seriously this few days/week have been "avoiding" it and keep telling my S02 members, "I am still yours until April." =p
When Santhi called me during church's easter service, asking me whether I have seat etc a not, I felt like laughing when I told her, "I have to wait for my member's friends" ... cause I was like oh no, I am whose member now ar?! Like telling my future member that I am waiting for my current member's friends. *confused* Heehee.

Even after the debrief by Sis Iris after the church's easter service, she gave out flyers to invite the new friends back for a bbq cum combined cell meeting ... I was eager to know when and where so to see whether can I make it a not. OH NO ... I FORGET ! I'm not S02 anymore! I felt myself hitting against the wall. BANG! =( I wont and cant join them because I need to attend my own JM1 cell meeting and afterall I am really not S02 member anymore. sobsob.

Yanni ... wake up! wake up! You need to accept the reality! Arghhhhh ..... =p

iNcReDiBle EaStEr ...

25 March - Easter Day ... Jesus was on the cross, He had all the power to come down from the cross but why didn’t He? He chose to stay on the cross just for YOU and ME! Thank you Jesus, I love you! =)

JAMs’ Incredible Easter Party - Praise God Praise God! My bus, W5's attendance ... *drum rolls* 28 students & 19 decisions! For past few weeks’ attendance is between 16-21, and indeed is a breakthrough to hit 28. Of course more than having just a one-time hit of 28, really pray for good retention and the new friends/backslider will keep coming and coming and coming!

This Easter, I did segments for games (2nd time for big day) and announcement, both with Santhi. Privileged of course but super "stress" because partner is Santhi. =p Heehee. After all she is someone of “experience and excellence” so felt really pressured about it. At the end of the day, I felt that I didn’t do a good job in presenting the games well because many times left Santhi talking/explaining alone, I just don’t know when and what and how to say (same for announcement too). sobsob... I still got a lot to learn and improve on.

As I need to stay in church to prepare for games, I can’t do fetching trip busing so therefore sent out my two great helpers, Jane and Yiwei (with supervision of Jingjing). They did a great job! Heard from Jingjing that she didn’t help much with the route but just with the newcomers, she just let Jane be fully in-charge. Calls and calls were received from Jane at the beginning when students failed to come down etc … and she really sound panic and kanchiong. Hahaz. Must admit was “affected” by her at first but told myself and her that everything going to be alright and true enough everything is alright! PTL!

To BH Jane and BH Yiwei …
Thank you so much for rising up to the occasion! Having not do fetching often, you all still willing to take up the "challenge" and complete the entire fetching smoothly, transporting all W5 students to church for a great Incredible Easter! So proud of you guys! Though minor problem may have occurred during the trip but you two still remain calm (oops … issit Jane? heehee)
ps: think next time BC can take leave more often already … since I got two great and faithful helpers! Muahaha

To Jingjing …
Thank you so much for lending a hand to W5 fetching! More than being there as “supervisor” … guess without you around, Teacher Jane may have panic until …….. shhhhhh. Hahahaha

26 March - morning went JAMs’ Easter makeup service ... Mr Sato was there. He was at the sound system throughout, maybe he was bored I guess ... he decided to break his new tape with his bare hands and then run to lie totally flat on the floor. Wah Wah! Can you imagine the impact! Hahaz.
After that went to church’s Easter service at SIS. Started queuing with Shihui, her interesting cousin and Guiyi from
4pm! Wow! We are the second batch in the row. Haha … a bit kanchiong and kiasu I guess but I think is the “fear” left from Pst Benny Hinn’s crusade that if don’t queue early, we will be the thousand that will be rejected. Once bitten twice scared? Hahaz.

27 March - three days after Jesus crucified on the cross – no no no no no no no no! God not dead, He alive! God not dead, He alive! God not dead, He alive! I feel Him all over me. I feel Him on my head. I feel Him on my feet. I feel Him in the air. I feel Him everywhere! JESUS IS ALIVE! Hallelujah!

zzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ … spent the morning sleeping away, getting back all my sleep that I have ‘lost’ for the past few days. =p And spending the night reading Daily Devotion too.

JAMs’ Easter Party 2005- the first big day that I ever felt soooooooo tired physically, super not enough sleep (my eyes was more than “panda eyes” … it was slightly swollen. Shocked to see it myself when I took photos with members. oops!). Not forgetting the super cramped legs after dance practices. Haha … maybe it show one thing … I old already and need to exercise more! Haha!

More than all this tiredness ... it had been a awesome Easter! Is always great to be a part of the team to make the big day a success! All this late night is worth it when I see the students enjoying themselves and able to experience Jesus' love in their own special way. Jesus is for EVERYONE and ANYONE! =)

ps: very longggg hor my blog msg? hahaha ... maybe too long never write, so once write cannot stop. hahaha ... thanks for reading guys!

the JOY of my LORD is my STRENGTH

Wow wow wow wow wow wow … it had been a longgg week, seem never-ending to me. =p

It all started last Saturday where after the supper-celebration for Tricia’s 21st birthday which many came, filling up not one, not two but three big tables. Wow! Tricia's face very big ar. Heehee. And then after that I went down to Lifeworks to join Huimin and Jingjing for props-making for Easter Party's drama. We did throughout the night, paint here cut there stick here glue there and to keep our brain working and going, we are accompany by popiah, bread (for jingjing) and potato chips. =p

The next morning only managed to sleep for less than 2hours as need to prepare self for games at JAMs and then left for church. Back serving in JAMs, thought will be sleepy and tired since not enough sleep but surprisely, I was in full-charged. Not even once, even during busing did I felt sleepy. Then Monday night, I went down to Lifeworks again … helped Joli with the drama’s props before doing the games’ props as this JAMs' Easter, I am leading games with Santhi. Wah! When it come to art, Yanni must really raise both hands and surrender ar. I was like cracking my head, stoning here and there … just to design the Easter Egg. After finishing the 8 eggs with Santhi, Joli and Lisha and clearing up the place, left the place about 3am plus. Tuesday did visitation with Jane … visited mainly those backsliders, invited them to come our JAMs’ Incredible Easter Party! Previous night didn’t sleep enough again and then some more throughout the visitation felt slight pain at my back, but still thank God that I managed to finish the entire visitation with energy and joy.

The Joy of my Lord is my strength!

Then Wednesday night went down to Lifeworks again, for dance practice. The dance steps was choreographed by Weiyan and Santhi who are really super in dancing. And on Thursday, school was only half day as the K2s kids are going Night Safari and thank God that I am granted off for that, if not I cant go for the full-dress rehearsal. Then in the afternoon me went around “travelling” with Joli and Terence on his van … very happening to me!

Hahaz … first we drove to Lifeworks to get all the props up on van (to bring to church) and then all the way, we went to Grace Orchard School in the west to collect consent forms (as the principal actually helped us to give out our Easter’s flyers to their Chinese and Tamil students!). After that, we went to Jurong Point to collect the watches brought for all the students who attending our Easter Party. And finally after all, we went to church to unload our stuffs … the most “challenging” part come when Terence got to leave immediately as he got next appointment and so it left only Joli and me with soooooo many boxes of stuffs and we are supposed to bring it down to B2. “Time changed … it used to be brothers doing P.A but now is sisters” – said Joli. But thank God last minute we managed to get help from Andre. PTL! =p

That night itself is our rehearsal where we stayed until 11pm plus. First try on stage with Santhi for games, I was super unprepared so didn’t know what to say, super blur there but next few times was slightly better. We also had several dance practices at B2 … super hot super tiring, legs super cramp but still we all gave in our best to show to Sis Lily. Back home, didn’t get to sleep until 3am plus because got to prepare fetching trips stuffs.

For many days this week, I have not really been sleeping well then the next day still got to wake up early to go school teach, but indeed never feel weak or super-duper tired until cannot tahan. Indeed the JOY OF MY LORD IS MY STRENGTH. This verse kept coming so clear to me this few days. Thank you Jesus!

*tHe PrEsEnCe Of GoD*

Last weekend’s Healing Crusades with Rev. Benny Hinn was awesome! Though out of the three sessions, I only managed to go one but I felt so greatly blessed. Saturday morning … together with Jinzhi, Chris and Shihui, went to queue up at indoor stadium at about 7am! Really cannot imagine went there so early … but of course never regret about it, is all worth waiting! Wow wow wow … during the ministering, could really feel the strong presence of God. As Rev. Benny Hinn went to the sides to pray for the people, could felt myself “swinging” already and felt “electricity” kind of feeling in my palm (never had this feeling before). At first thought was like numb or something but later heard from Tricia that Pastor actually shared that, that is the presence of God and I was like WOW WOW WOW WOW! How I wish can continue to stay and mingle in His Presence longer but … but time is running out as outside the stadium, there is 6000 more people waiting to come in. During this entire Healing Crusades, miraculous healing took place … managed to witness some and the rest was shared by member who went as I didn't for two nights.

-that's my nose!-

Last JAMs … Mr Sato didn’t come, supposed to as is his week but then told the mum to let him “rest” at home instead, don’t feel good about it. Just when I think I dont have to fight any "battle" and kept all my "weapons" =p ... my "twin sister" Miss Wennie decided to declare war! Hahaz.

Before the service start, she just refuse to go in hall no matter what we said and just when a sweet is being ofter to her, telling her she will only have it if she go in and IMMEDIATELY she stood and walked in. Argghhhh ... we are not worth a sweet! Hahahaz. Back in the hall ... she sneeze and she sneeze and she sneeze and she sneeze and she sneeze and she sneeze and she SNEEZE! (sneeze - sudden audible involuntary explusion of air through the nose). Not because she is cold or something but she did it purposely, to attract attention (confirmation by the mum). As she was sneezing and sneezing, this teacher went to ask her to stop and she immediately replied, "That's my nose!" ... ermm what a good reply!

Not only that, she even want to use her "dirty hand" to attack another student sitting infront of her. Wah .. just before the "volcanos" (teachers) around her started erupting, she managed to tone down a bit with a LOLLIPOP. Argghhhh ... sweet again! But that's not the end, she again decided to start her "routine" again - nose-sneezing, beating of friend etc and just when boxes of presents was show to her ... she toned down, and especially when we opened one and is BISCUITS. Hahahaz

To handle Mr Sato ... you need strategy, faith and PATIENT!
To handle Mis Wennie ... you need "acting skills" and lots of sweet! =p

-Week 10-

Yipee! Yipee! Week 10 already!
Week 10 = last week of Term 1 and is holiday after that! Though is only one-week holiday but very good already ... a break from waking up early every mornings, a break from school and most importantly a BIG break from the little "devils" of my school ... a peace to my ear and a rest to my throat. Hahahahaz.

"Super Girls! Super Girls! Super Super Super Girls!
Super Girls! Super Girls! Super Super Super Girls!
1 2 3 .... Super Girls!"

JAMs on the 6th Mar ...
Busing for both fetching/returning was PEACEFUL ... thats of course without the presence of Mr Sato. =p You can really feel the BIG difference when he is around and when he is not around. Beside Mr Sato, I still got another challenging student on bus, my "twin sister" ... Miss Wennie, she was pretty okay on the bus but not really during the service. Like what Teacher May describled ... she is like "manifested" and that to take care of her again in the future, we really need to pray and fast for 3days and 3nights. Haha! She is like testing our patience and our long-suffering spirit! =pppppp

Special thanks to Teacher May - the teacher who is more than a teacher to Miss Wennie. Thank you soooo much for helping me with wennie when I am doing the service's segment. Felt really bad about it but of course, you will REAP what you sow! Heehee...

*tHaNk YoU, JeSuS*

*lyn feeling kind of free now ... so decided to blog down the testimonies of my Certificate in Preschool Teaching (CPT) course*

*GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME ... ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD*

February 2004 ...
Teacher Yanni started her Certificate in Preschool Teaching (CPT) course, a certificate that every teacher in preschool must have ... did it in RTRC (Regional Training Resources Centre). Every two days of a week, I got to rush to course lesson straight after school, from 6pm-10pm and of course it super tiring ... interesting is that the class strength is not very big so must always tell ownself to keep awake at all times, if not lecturer surely can see. Hahaz. Is super not easy and super tiring to study and work at the same time ... agree with me Miss Lau?! =p

1st Testimony - thank God for His grace and strength

* Like what I said earlier, is not easy to study and work at the same time ... beside there other commitment I have in church and in JAMs so really without His strength and grace, I won't make it so smoothly. Really thank God that He bring me through this entire one whole year of study!

wtih man is impossible ... but with God, ALL things are possible!

2nd Testimony - thank God for creativity and good result

* After every module that I take, there will surely be assignment ... group or individual. Individual work not so bad cause basically the effort I put in will only affect my own marks BUT when it come to group work, I will always sweat! Some more the group members of mine are ALL very creativity and so when it come to assignment like Arts and Crafts, Big Book making, Learning Corners etc ... they will always have a lot of great and creativity ideas and when the task is being assigned to me ...... ARGGHHHHH! Cause basically my arts is "first", counting from behind so thats why when it come to creavtivity, think I will faint first. =p But really (x10) thank God that when a task or assignment is being given to me, I'm able to come out with it ... on time and "presentable". Wah ... God's grace, God's grace! =p

* Favor of man (lecturers) =p ... the assignment that I've done so far, all got a passed and for me, a "passed" to me I am very happy already! The very first exam which consist of 2 modules, I took it during the period of time when it met with church's anniversary and so was rather busy with the rehearsals as I joined JAMs for the Parade of Ministry (POM) so didnt really study much. And even for the actual paper itself, a 3hrs paper, I took 1.5hrs to finish then rushed down to church for s1. But God is good, when I got back my result ...... *drum roll* ..... I got an A!!! Not forgeting my two practicum (lecturer came to my school to see me conduct lesson) ... though was trembelling and super nervous but really really really thank God that I passed!

with man is impossible ... but with God, ALL things are possible!

3rd Testimony - thank God for the friends He have given me during this course

* A ... maybe when I said the following, some of you will laugh until fall off the chair ar, so please hold tight! Hahaz ... during this entire course, I am actually very ....................... QUIET! =pppp Think can hear me laugh already miracle liao, not say want hear my voice ar! Hahaz. But really thank God that during the last few months of the course, got along quite well with few people and they are actually my group members for couple of assignment. They are really those that will kept approaching me to talk to me, no matter how quiet I can be.

To my "WonderGirls", "Breadthots" members ... Love you girls greatly. And really miss you all verrrry much! Let's continue to stay in touch k. =)

Special thanks to Miss Lau... for your help when it come to my assignment. "Quick! Go do!" is what you will said when I met you in msn and you know that I am doing my assignment. =) Thanks for enlighten me that lesson plan are for teacher to see and not for children. Muahaha.

Special thanks to my ZS,
Miss Joli ... for your constant "Jiayou" and encouragement during this entire course. Thanks for your care and concern! You are the first few person that I will share my results with immediately when I got it.

*JM1*

Friday 4th March ... Yanni's verrrry first visit to JAMs Cell Group Meeting!

So paiseh that I was not really on time for the cell meeting, alighted from bus halfway to take cab because heart was jumping real fast when each minute passed, bringing the time for the meeting nearer and nearer. Instead of driving me to "Edgefield" the driver drove me round and round "Edgedale" ... think at that moment my heart had stop jumping. =p Hahahaz

Started with prayer meeting, though was only a few of us (less than 10) but it was powerful. Sis Santhi prepared us for worship ... just when I was telling God that it was so amazing to see myself sitting inside JAMs cell group as I couldnt really believe it, I felt God telling me "I have brought you to this far" and tears just flow down and I couldnt stop thanking Jesus. Wah wah ... as I began to worship, felt God began to tell me "I have brought you to this far and there nothing that I cant overcome it with you".

*God is good all the time ... All the time God is good*

The 1st cell meeting with JM1, I must say that it has been great ... really. The members there, I could really feel that each and everyone of them, they are "comfortable" with each other's presence. That kind of strong bonding and that kind of loving and secure atmosphere that even if you were to do something wrong/funny ... you wont feel "paiseh" or feel like digging a hole and hide

Guess is only my FIRST time, I think I will still need some more time to be able to be fully adapt to everything! Is a kind of feeling like last time, from N47 to E95 ... from E95 to S02, where I got to readapt to the new environment, opening up to my new members etc.

To my members in S02 and E322, I miss and love you guys greatly. *muacks*

ps: I am still in S02 ... not yet official to JM1 yet. April April .... so I am still yours! =pppp

bLeSsEd Me =)

Last Sunday ... after JAMs busing, actually went down to my BH's (Jane Low) house with Huimin, Alvina, Rick and Jinzhi (my usual dinner kaki every week). Is amazing to see how ON we can be that despite the late hour after busing and how far some of us stayed (special saluate to Rick, Huimin and Alvina), we still make it a point to rush down ... after all is a SPECIAL invitation by Jane Low. =p

It was so nice of her parents ... her dad brought us pizza and her mum prepared home-cooked noodles for us. It was like a time of 'feasting' for us ... pizza, noodles, satay, hot hot satay sauce, hot hot pepsi and not forgetting the garlic bread with special aroma. =ppppp It had been a great time of fellowshipping with them ... getting to know each and everyone better, especially after seeing Jane Low's family photo. shhhhhhhhh

Yesterday ... the start of Week 9 in school. Yipee! Yipee! Holiday coming! Night time, spent hours on computer, doing up this blogsite of me. Like what my title said ... "Blessed Me" with special thanks to Miss Jadyn Lau and Miss Seraph Chan, if not for their help and patience, I will have fainted halfway through figuring the very very very super duper chim html and just stick to the fact that Yanni can only have a simple and ordinary blogsite. Muahahaha.

LOVE what is DIFFERENT...

A "longg" day in JAMs yesterday ... especially after a "mental/emotion battle" with Sato. All started during fetching trip, the moment he boarded the bus could sense something not right and true enough he stood up to change seats when the bus is MOVING and OH NO I was so worried for the students around him cause after all, he not that small size. =p Then he decided to use his favourite tape to hit hardly against the window many times and OH NO the driver was so worried. You think thats the end?! NO ... just when he found the floor more comfortable and sat on it, right infront of the bus steps and OH NO he is blocking the entrance totally! He is really so powerful that along the crowded way to church, he actually walked so stylo-milo-ly that he "gently knocked" and this brother (2nd person away from him) fall.

Everything seem so peaceful during service ... UNTIL when is dismissal time! Mr Sato Seiichiro was acting as the sound crew! "dont want" was his replyssss when I asked him to leave for bus. 1st try ... 3rd try ... 5th try ... GIVE UP! I just felt so helpless =(. Starting when he is finally on the bus, he was pretty okay, quite sweet at certain moment ... offered to help me open the biscuits box, asked me so many "why" question etc. (makes my heart "melt" for him again .... argghhh).
Towards the end, he decided to stand up AGAIN to reach out for driver's cd ... the moment that break my heart is when one of the male student was stopping him and he was giving me this "help me" look, I just looked at him with this "I'm sorry, I dont know how to already" look.

*LOVE WHAT IS DIFFERENT*

Though at the end of the day ... I felt so "drained" by sato, totally felt helpess when dealing with him. "SURRENDER" was on my forehead. Really feel like giving up on him but this thought of "isnt this what JAMs is all about" kept coming to me so the only thing I can do now is to keep him and I in prayer. =)

*God can change EVERYONE and ANYONE!*
