JAMs EaStEr SuPeRhErO

Jesus… my SuperHero!
Jesus… my star!
Jesus… my best friend!

JAMs Easter SuperHero… successful!

This Easter- I am one of the games masters with Santhi. Though our discussion & preparation is rather last minute but thank God on the actual day, everything turned out well. To be able to work with Santhi… I would say there is certain stress as she is a person of excellence but of course the opportunity to learn from her is great and worth it too. =)

My beloved W5- past few weeks’ attendance had been like 21, 22, 23… it always been my prayer to be able to cross that mark of 25 on a usual JAMs weekend!

So this big day… together with my ZS, we targeted to have 25.
(to my ZS, 25 is no problem cause W5 has ever hit 38 on a big day).

Indeed God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Eph. 3:20) - this Easter, W5’s attendance is… … … … *drum rolls* … … … … … … 33!

Praise the Lord! All glory belongs to Him! =)

Is very amazing how God does it- from my bus, I actually have many super irregulars students (those who sometimes come sometimes don’t come) who came. And I have two backsliders who came too, no words could describe the joy of seeing them back again… they actually backslided yearssssssss ago and for me to be in contact with them again and they came for Easter, is indeed God’s power. As they are very high and working, they said they are willing to come JAMs service if the weekend they are not working. Not forgetting my usual core students… ALL of them came!

Haha! To think about it… it feels great when my helpers who did fetching for me told me that they actually squeezed in 29 students and 2 teachers in a 20seaters bus! But of course got to really thank God no traffic police, if not based on what the driver said… each passenger after the 20th, got to pay $100. =)

Right now after the big day, what is the challenge for me?
- to contain the growth of W5 (got to pray that God will enlarge my capacity). And really pray & believe that W5’s attendance will not drop down back to below 25 again.

Really pray this breakthrough will not be one-time bang event. 33 for Easter big day, what will be the attendance for W5 the week after big day?

Eugene's Jesus

*the class of children was doing work… I was too tired to move so just sat there with them to keep watch. Just when Eugene (always very chatty) started saying “sell group” “cell group” and then our interesting conversation started*

Cher: Eugene, so who is Jesus?
Eugene: Say Say… Jesus Christ!
Cher: Who is Jesus Christ?
E: Jesus Christ is Jesus Christ. Understand?
Cher: Where is Jesus Christ?
E: Say Say Say… Heaven!
Cher: Where did Jesus Christ die?
E: Cross!
Cher: Why Jesus Christ die on the cross?
E: Help people… Jesus like kids! When the balloon fly, Jesus catch the balloon. Jesus like Vincent (his brother) and Eugene!
Cher: Have you see Jesus before?
E: Jesus… don’t have. Jesus must have bible.
Cher: What is bible?
E: Bible is from Jesus. Bible is for everyone.

Cher: You was saying about cell group just now. What is cell group?
E: American service!
Cher: What is American service?
E: People sick but I am not sick. Church and Jesus help me. Bible is good for you to read.
Cher: So what is cell group?
E: Cell group is people read bible then got one man talk talk talk
Cher: Hahahaha!
E: We are all like sheep cause Jesus no.1, we all no.2! Christmas Day, Jesus come and jingle bell.
Cher: Is Jesus handsome?
E: Yes! When Jesus is small, you can see. When Jesus big, you cant see him.

*knowing that I am copying down our conversation*

E: Write Write! Jesus very important!
Cher: Amen!
E: Amen!

1st time...

On our weekly duty roaster, when I see my name for offering segment during JAMs service, it seem ok to me now (not so scary like the 1st time when I was NERVOUS, very NERVOUS).

I did cheer before… I acted before I did announcement before… I did games before BUT to preach the Word of God during JAMs service I NEVER and I never expect I will ever.

Thank God for the faith but most of all, want to thank God for His Word. For me, the most most challenging is not how to preach but what to preach. Thank God for a Word in season… remember there was once continually for 3weeks I got to do offering- thank God never once “run out” of what to preach or ideas to illustrate. I came to this conclusion: with Word from God, I’m able to stand on stage confidently to preach even without my “script”. =)

BUT BUT BUT BUT just last week… I was rather “happy” when I didn’t see my name for segment for JAMs (not “backsliding” but really a week off to be not so stress). Just when I strolled down the list on my computer… I saw “Offering: Yanni” under the column for JM1 Cell Group Meeting!

*flipped flipped* I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!

I GOT TO PREACH DURING CELL GROUP MEETING! NOT TO JAMS STUDENTS BUT TO FELLOW CELL GROUP MEMBERS who among them can be those senior than me! Arggghhhhhhhhhh!

I prayed… asking God to show me what He wants me to share with His people regarding giving & what can I share to challenge His people to give

My very 1st cell group offering message:

Deut 28:1 ““Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high and above all nations of the earth.”

Deut 28:2 “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.”

Deut 29:3 – Deut 29:13 … ALL the blessing God promised us but on one condition and that is when we obey His Voice.

Stressfress” was written on my face when I ended the offering prayer. Actually even on the very last few hours I was still hesitating whether should I sms my cgl saying, “Can I don’t do offering later?” cause the thought of me “preaching” to my cg members just make me fearful. But thank God it turned out well, got good feedback for my offering message too. Really thank God thank God thank God thank God thank God!
