Ni's Adventure @ Hualian #2

Day 3
The day started pretty early with a traditional Taiwan breakfast at the hometown of Huang Family. It was so cool that straight after we finished, we just walked out of the place WITHOUT laying hands on our wallet to take $$. Truly is not what you know but who you know. Haha!

ps: pls do not try this when you at Hualian... Huang Papa "trained".

Huang Papa then brought the three of us to the place where they used to stay and amazingly the place had been “preserved” and “taken care of” and now, one of the Places of Interest.
The building in the below second picture was actually Huang's house years ago, even Nana stayed there before.

We spent quite a while there - both indoor and especially outdoor as Huang Papa explained/talked to us about the different leaves, different trees etc to us.
He is really very knowledgeable and I really learned so much from him!
Felt so “proud” when other tourists came on their own but we had a personal “tour guide” who knew and explained so much.

Guess it was here where I was ATTACKED by the “Little Blackie Mozzie”.

After that, we met up Huang Mama who prepared lots and lots and lots of food for our trip up the mountain.

It was a loooooooooooong drive.
Of course there were stops inbetween for toilet, for food and of course scenery viewing!
It was very thoughtful of Huang Papa who drove at a slow speed and stopped few times for us to adjust to the high altitude, just in case any of us will have altitude sickness.

We also stopped by at "Swallow Grotto Trail".

We spent the night at "mid-point" to our destination, the highest mountain in Hualian.
There were nothing much at the place we stayed as since is mountain top thus no shop etc That’s when Huang Mama’s abundance food (more than what you see below) came into use.

Though we were tired but for the sake of stars, we endured through the night. Finally at 12am, we went out and we were overwhelmed with joy and excitement to see a sky FULL, really FULL of stars.
As our cameras are not that pro thus we cant capture the actual.

The moments for the day...
The in-awe moment: a sky FILLED with stars

The unforgettable moment: first time going up up up the mountain

Day 4
The day we started our morning on the mountain top.
Shortly after our breakfast, we set off to continue our journey.

We soon reached our destination - He Huan Shan, the highest mountain in Hualian with height above sea level at 3275m!

Though the view was covered due to the not-so-good weather but it was still beautiful.
The whole feel and view were simply amazing!
It was coooooollllldddddd too~~~
Still, I’m looking  forward to my next visit where I can see a clearer view which I believe would be even more beautiful.

Huang Mama wanted me to have a feel of “mountain climbing”, one of hers and Huang Papa’s favorite activity. They had already conquered many mountains in Hualian.

And so we went but… a short and easy one though. Haha!
Let me get myself better prepared and trained then I shall return one day to climb one of the mountains, the smallest one with Huang Papa and Huang Mama.

Just before we left the place, we went for another trail through the seven caves in search of "Cave of Water Curtain".
We walked, walked, walked and walked… Cool view and experience, especially when it was raining a little.

Opps! Result of wearing slippers:

The night was spent with us back in town, with yummmmmmmmy food and buying of goodies.

The night ended with fellowship with not just Nana and YW but also another SOT mate, JL and her boyfriend, JM who arrived Hualian early afternoon.
We munched over the delicious BBQ meat bought at one of the stalls at Zhi Qiang Night Market.
Not just a must-try in Hualian but also filled with long queue every night.
ps: but not for us... haha! Truly is not what you know but who you know!

The moments for the day...
The wowow moment: the views on the mountain top
The unforgettable moment: all the beautiful scenery captured in my memory

to be continued...
