Week 3 and Week 4

Time fliesssssssssssssssss!!!
In the blinking of the eyes, is already the end of Week 4.

Actually planned to stay back in school for few days during Wk3 last week to do markingsss and to finish off some outstanding matter but in the end “excused myself” to be around @ a friend’s dad’s wake. Though cant/didn’t help much but just wanted to “be there”.
It was also a short week due to Children’s Day Celebration and holiday.

This week, Wk4... almost everyday we tried to squeeze time off our busy timetable to practice our dance. One thing I must say is that though is only 3hrs in LSK but not a moment the children are being shortchanged, esp during this busy "practicing period".
As much as the teachers want to practice dance, the teachers ensure ALL curriculum that are supposed to cover are being covered, not forgetting worksheet done first.

But I must really say the children are really flexible, cool and steady!
Many times, they need to be on the ball to listen and move fast to teachers’ instruction. Haha! Especially on Friday where is our “casual day aka no-lesson day”, their time in school can be real packed.
The children may have to move from one classroom to another, from level one to level two or even "doing two things at a session" and then to switch from play-mode to study-mode. Haha!

Another agenda that got to squeeze time to do this week - costume fitting for boys and girls. Sound simple but must be careful cause if over/under-sized then you know you know. Haha!
And also got to remember to call and follow-up with Tailor Aunty and Shop Aunty for arrival/collection of costumes etc.

Been a busy and tiring day TODAY but I’m loving it! =)

For both sessions - IMMEDIATELY (time is very precious on Fri… ha!) after “Show Time” by the Children Church’s pastor, we moved straight to class where the children had their snack. And for those who are done, they were with me selecting books to borrow home (one of our reading projects to cultivate reading habit).

Immediately half of the class went for computer makeup lesson and another half went up to practice dance. Miss Lim don’t even have time to sit down to “enjoy” her breakfast but grabbed two mini cake and quickly swallowed it.

It went on for a solid 50 mins "dancing" before we swapped the both groups.

Half an hour before dismissal, we were back in classroom with full class of children. Very quickly we gave out letters/reader of the week then Z Laoshi took over to explain her Chinese homework before she conducted a short lesson. And soon “Goodbye to teachers, Goodbye to my friends!”

Immediately after dismissal, we rolled up our sleeves and started pushing things here and there (the “routine” every Friday). Not only that, we got to do set-up for tomorrow orientation day and again got to paste here and there, to carry there and here etc etc.

Once done, can’t rest yet… with the help of Mrs G Chan, I got to “wrap” up the girls’ costume to prevent it from getting dirty etc. Did a final packed up to the classroom.
Did a quick washed up then was off to tailor’s house with Mrs ML to settle the buttons for boys’ costume.

It was already 6plus by the time I stepped out of the school. After a sleep tonight, tomorrow is back in school again for orientation (pretty looking forward to it) and then two visitations with Z Laoshi.

“the JOY of my LORD is my STRENGTH!”
